In the last 25 years Springdale has changed a lot. The population has
ballooned from just under 37,000 residents to an estimated 80,000+ when
the new census is taken. It has seen the West side of town explode with new
residential and commercial growth and the East side reach farther than
some could have imagined. Downtown has been through hard times, but as
of late has seen a renewed interest and investment to bring the old
storefronts and iconic buildings back to life one by one.
In 2 decades plus one thing that hasn't changed in times of feast and famine
and that is the President of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce. That will
soon change as we have learned, after celebrating his 25th anniversary just
a month and a half ago, Perry Webb has announced he is resigning his post
as President and CEO of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce. He will
remain with the chamber in the interim as a search begins for his
replacement and a timetable is still developing. Webb came to the
Springdale Chamber after serving at the Walnut Ridge and Forrest City
Chambers of Commerce. He has not made public any plans for what he
intends to do with life after the Chamber, but as a father of 3 and
grandfather I am sure he will have plenty to keep him busy. We will keep you
updated as the news unfolds.
