Northeast Springdale Warehouse Still
Smoldering Days After Fire Ignited
We have pushed passed the 4-day mark on the fire burning at the A
Advantage Warehouse at 659 East Randall Wobbe Road. A quick
drive through the area gives you a snapshot of the still smoldering
building that is a total loss and the air still filled with the smoke coming
from the ashes of the 70,000 square foot facility.
The building sis said to be a storage facility for Cargill Styrofoam
containers as well as mattresses and tires among other things.
Springdale firefighters fought the blaze until one of the firemen was
injured by falling debris and had to be taken to a nearby hospital with a
lower body injury. At that point the decision was made to let the fire
burn itself out as there was not a clear line of sight inside the facility to
see where debris was falling from.
I drove by the area today and it is still being monitored by Springdale
officials and law enforcement. Mr. Phil Phillips is the owner of the
facility and has said he plans to rebuild the warehouse. He is a friend
and a long-time member of this community and we wish him the best
with this unfortunate incident.
