Dr. Jim Rollins May Leave Springdale School
District to Become NTI Boss
The Springdale School District may soon have to turn to new
leadership if the Northwest Technical Institute has anything to say
about it. On Tuesday, in executive session, the board met to discuss
the opportunity of hiring the state's most high-profile Superintendent.
Even with a new pay scale Dr. Rollins would have to take nearly a
$100,000 a year pay cut to accept the job.
It has been rumored, at least in my circles, for several weeks that he
had a piqued interest in this job. NTI hope that with approval through a
few layers of red tape he will be able to start the new job sometime in
July. It is of obvious concern to the Springdale School District as they
have been under Rollins leadership since the 2nd year of the Reagan
Administration in 1982. He has transitioned the district from a
somewhat small, rural district to the largest in the state and a leader in
thought and innovation with things like the School of Innovation and
School Based Health Clinics. Many are confident that the district is in
good hands with the line of succession which includes the person
many believe to be the front runner for the job Jared Cleveland.
We will continue to follow the story and keep you updated as so many
of you have a personal investment in the Springdale School System
and its success is essential to the growth and success of our town for
many years to come.
