Support First Responders, Health Care Workers & Local Restaurants All At Once
Mister Rogers said it best. "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

In these uncertain times many are worried about their job, their children's education, the health and well-being of their families and many other things that have created an unstable and tumultuous environment in our country right now. But some people do not have that luxury. They have to get up and answer the call daily to ensure our safety, our health and our way of life as Americans continue.

Police Officers must still answer the call when someone is in danger. Firemen and EMT's must continue to go to motor vehicle accidents and health emergencies throughout our city. Our nurses, doctors, administrative workers and all other healthcare professionals must put themselves right in the middle of this pandemic by continuing to treat patients and ensure that they give each patient the best care possibly. Many are spending extra time away from their families and some are even quarantining themselves away from the ones they love to protect them from any possible exposure they may get on the job. So how can we help?

Many local restaurants are struggling as people continue to practice social distancing and dining rooms are closed by order of the Governor. They have gone to curbside pickup, takeout or delivery to try and bridge the sales gap until we return to normal. They've had to lay off many members of their staff in the meantime and most establishments will find the owners now manning the counters themselves. So how can we help them?

One simple solution if you feel so inclined or lead to do so and secure in your financial situation. Call up a local restaurant and order 10, 20 or 30 meals and deliver them to the Springdale Police Department. Our local fire stations usually staff 5 people each shift currently and Stations 5 and 7 have 7 firemen. Call up a local Mexican restaurant and order a bunch of tacos or a sandwich shop and order sandwich boxes and send them to the hospital. Those folks working overtime right now would certainly appreciate our support.

We are living in days that will be studied in history class years down the road. Let's make sure when they remember Springdale they tell of how our people looked out for each other and help our town persevered and the economy came back stronger than it was before.
