Dawn DeShazo has made children her mission. The COVID-19
pandemic has created a tremendous need for the most vulnerable
families in our community. While Dawn has been battling cancer she
has long been a servant to our community and has recently developed
a program to deliver food to these families while educating them on the
value of staying home.
These are working Springdale families with children in our district who
simply needing a helping hand from their neighbors during this time of
uncertainty. Dawn has been aided by many teachers and assistants
within the Springdale School District in delivering this life sustaining gift
to these grateful families.
They are raising money, accepting gift cards or even food donations
that they bundle together into care packages to deliver to these homes.
The goal is not only to care for these families, but to educate them on
the value of staying home when an individual living in the home is sick
so that we may prevent the spread of the virus. These people
delivering are taking appropriate precautions but also delivering
educational materials to the families about safe practices as well as
signage they can use to let someone approaching the home know they
need to take precautions. If you would like to help feed these children
and their families please reach out to Dawn.
