In recent months and in some cases years the Pump Station bridge
has been the source of heated debate and indigestion for the citizens
of North Springdale. The bridge was washed out during major flooding
in 2017 and since then there have been an array of questions about
who is building it, what the design will be and when it will be completed.
It seems we finally have answer to those questions and a goal line to
run toward on when it will be re-opened.
Last week the contract was awarded to APAC-Central by the Arkansas
Department of Transportation and the process has begun with the
clearing of the land and the preparation of the site for the completely
new bridge that will span the creek and include the Razorback
Greenway running through it. Construction of the bridge is expected to
take under 6 months and be wrapped up sometime during the month of
January.
